Find World-Renowned Home Furnishings at MacKenzie-Childs
On a serene Victorian farm overlooking Cayuga Lake, MacKenzie-Childs has been creating hand-painted ceramics, dinnerware, furniture, home decor and gifts since 1983. Those familiar with MacKenzie-Childs adore the beautiful yet whimsical designs that define their collection.
The grounds of the company's 65-acre property in Aurora are open to the public, allowing visitors to stroll in the gardens, tour the farmhouse and visit the store. The production studio is housed in the dairy barn. This is where the skilled artisans craft handmade, hand-decorated pottery, furniture and home furnishings – making every MacKenzie-Childs creation a true original.
Even if you're not particularly interested in a shopping adventure, the breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake from the MacKenzie-Childs farm are not to be missed. When you visit, the winding brick driveway will lead you to the entrance of the property. The picturesque farm is home to a small herd of Scottish Highland cattle, dozens of birds roosting in the Chicken Palace, a duck pond, a former Cornell horse barn, a 1930s greenhouse, and plenty of hay fields – not to mention the sprawling gardens that are ever-changing in every season.
The majestic farmhouse that overlooks the grounds is furnished from top to bottom with MacKenzie-Childs designs. Daily guided tours are available to show you 15 inspirational rooms on three floors.
The real draw for those who make the pilgrimage to MacKenzie-Childs is the retail shop filled with stunning furniture, home decor, gifts, rugs, kitchenware, lighting and so much more. Each July, the company holds its annual Barn Sale. The four-day event draws thousands of shoppers from near and far who come for the deep discounts.
