Kayak and Paddleboard Rentals on Seneca & Cayuga Lakes
Did you know that Seneca and Cayuga lakes are the longest of the Finger Lakes? Just shy of 40 miles each, countless visitors flock to enjoy these bodies of pure blue bliss every summer. If you are looking to explore the lakes and area waterways more, we recommend spending an afternoon kayaking, canoeing or paddleboarding. Don’t have a boat or board handy? Well, you’re in luck!
With over a dozen kayak, canoe and paddleboard rentals nearby, we narrowed down a few of our favorite local spots where Yale Manor guests can partake in a fun water adventure.
At the southern end of Seneca Lake in Watkins Glen, you'll find a few kayak and standup paddleboard rental options at Summit to Stream Adventures and Seneca Lake Kayak. You can rent for just a few hours or for the entire day. Not sure how to use the equipment? Sign up for a lesson! Then paddle around beautiful and serene Seneca Lake and explore its open water, calm marshes and beautiful scenery. Both also give guided tours, perfect for beginners or even intermediate kayakers.
Over on Cayuga Lake, Paddle-N-More offers kayak, canoe and paddleboard adventures out of three locations, including Taughannock Falls State Park in Trumansburg. Aiming to increase the number of people who participate in paddle sports in the Finger Lakes, they provide rentals, lessons and guided trips for a day of fun outdoor recreation. Want to try something a little different? Paddle-N-More provides windsurfing lessons as well as SUP Yoga classes, which is yoga while on a standup paddleboard.
While they're based in Himrod on the west side of Seneca Lake, Reagan's Canoe & Kayak Livery will actually deliver their kayaks and paddleboards right to you – wherever you want to explore the waterways and picturesque sights of the Finger Lakes! Reagan's touts the largest canoe, kayak and standup paddle board rental fleet in the region. Whether you're going out for just a day or want to paddle the waters for an entire week, the shop has a vessel that will surely fit your needs.
While Kayak Time doesn't offer rentals, they do provide guided kayak tours for anyone seeking more personalized instruction and attention. Based in Geneva, they provide half- and full-day tours of the lakes, rivers, canals and falls for a scenic adventure on the water. All tours are designed with the paddler's level of knowledge and experience in mind.
